Busy week for me. I'm going down to the Cackalacks for a benefit show - support the Scott Free foundation, they send underpriveleged kids in North Carolina to summer camp. I'll be spinning funk, soul, country, and folk for folks down in Raleigh. But first...
It's Slackfest 2009! Once again I'm bringing out the heavy Jamaican crates to spin between sets for The Slackers, alongside Mighty Fine, Sean Wheeler and Zander Schloss (Circle Jerks). You'll be hearing some ska, rocksteady, reggae, soul and anything that makes you wanna move. Tickets are $16 in advance and $18 the night of the show, doors open at 8pm.

Due to some building code violations at 205 Chrystie, ArtCrime is temporarily taking up residency at the Belmont Lounge (near Union Square) until further notice. Bonus: no cover until this situation is sorted out. Spend that ca$h on drinks instead. Furthermore, rumor has it that there will be a Motown vs. Stax battle early on in the night. Peep us this weekend:

Saturday, September 19 - Belmont Lounge - 117 E 15th St, NY - No Cover
I want to make sure it ends on a high note. I just got back from Bermuda and wanted to shed some light on one of my favorite underrated producers: Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys. Kicking things off with Brian's favorite song of all time, I reconstructed his works into a psychedelic mix for everyone to enjoy this Labor Day weekend. Now up for free download... All Summer Long: The Brian Wilson Mix.
